Neverwhere
Just got the book "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman. My Brother, my sister, and my dad both have read and all say its a fantastic book and is unlike any other book they have read. Neil Gaiman, as i have read some his books before, definitely has a unique writing style and unique imagination. You may know books by him such as "Coraline" which was made into a movie or "Stardust" which was also made into a movie. I also blogged about his book "Anansi Boys" last week which i very much enjoyed. I just read the back which tells the reader about a young man named Richard Mayhew finds a bleeding girl on the sidewalk. This then somehow leads him to this other world. He becomes one of the few that fall through the cracks. The book takes place in London and there is alternate city below London. Like an Alternate Universe or side-world of some sort. Well i think I will see what my family likes about this book so much. Lets see "Neverwhere" is, it doesn't sound very pleasant...

House of Hades
I have just read The House of hades by Rick Riordan. It was a fantastic book; the last book left you with a serious cliff hanger; literally! two of the main characers Percy and Annabeth were hanging on a cliff that went straight to Tarturas. they then fell and the book said "House of Hades coming fall of 2013". GAAAA! what the heck Rick! Although at the sake of us readers' sanity House of hades was released. through the book you went back and forth between character's point of views as he does in this series, from the crew on earth, and percy and annabeth in Tarturas. The plot and storyline was full of danger, fear, and pure hellish experience for annabeth and percy. Insider this was immense growth and development of characters. Especially in the mysterious Nico. With a suprise that, at least for me, made him kind of loose his kick-butt, son of hades death aura a little bit but at least we understand him better. I believe that the plot development was great as it developed each and every character in their own way and rose to the climax of the final plan and battles that will occur in the next book, "The Blood of Olympus". ialso get a new favorite character; The Titan Bob(Iapetus), who is Hade's janitor. After this series is over i would love a little epilogue book when they are adults. Heck even a little chapter like in Harry potter. Anyways this book was fnatastic, and was not the same plot as the earlier series or a "rip of his own Books" as some people say. This aggrivates me people would say that this series is action-packed, one of a kind, Homer worthy story.

Anansi Boys
Anansi Boys is a very unique book. The main character is half god, his father is Anansi the mischievous god of Spiders. The Main Character Charlies personality is split in too and made into too separate people. The too people being Charlie the timid more normal Human side, and Spider his outgoing more godly personality. The conflict in the book is mainly between the two "brothers". Spider takes Charlies fiance and ruins Charlies normal average life. The brothers eventually solve the conflict in the end and all this is resolved. The Conflict represents the battle in ones self. The battle of what choices to make, what things to do, and what decisions to make. In the end Charlie becomes a confident man and all internal conflict is put to peace and Charlie becomes more self confident and outgoing. Spider becomes more mature and less wild and immature.
Charlie hated his father Anansi in the beginning of the book. His dad would play tricks on him and in Charlies mind make fun of him, almost bully him. Anansi's personality is mischievous and uses a lot of trickery that Gaiman shows when he writes short stories in the book to give you background on the gods. All that he did he did out of love for Charlie and Charlie see's how his father is and realizes how much his father actually did for him, how much Anansi loved him. IN the end Charlie resolves the conflict with his dad and his internal conflict with him. Charlie becomes more like Anansi and even wheres his fathers old fedora and gets his own Fedoras.
