Comparing Allegiant to Mockingjay
I have read Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins and I am reading Allegiant by Veronica Roth currently. These books are very similar, heck the whole series are very similar. Both the main characters are female, both are post-apocalyptic, both are a trilogy, both have too much romance, and both are having their last movies are getting put into two parts. I mean they needed to do it for The Deathly Hallows, but not for these series as well. Even though they are similar in many ways to the naked eye but even their meanings and themes are fairly similar. At least they seem that way to me. They both are about morals, more specifically morality of a society. Now it is basically impossible to explain this without spoilers so I will just keep it at that. But I assure you these books are one in the same, I am not saying this a bad thing. They are different in a good amount of ways, and I started reading Divergent after good amount of time since reading Mockinjay so it didn't really bother me. If you have read one of the series and u liked it you should definitely read the other

I've also read the trilogy of the hunger games, and thought that it was great starting out, but eventually it felt like a chore to read all through out to the third book. Do you think Allegiant is a good recommendation if I did'nt like the format of being a good to not-so-interesting anymore type of trilogy?

ReplyDeleteWow, I never really noticed the similarities between the two books! I haven't read Allegiant, but I really liked the Hunger Games series so I'll have to check out this series! Nice comparisons!
ReplyDeleteI kind of noticed how similar these two are when i read them but until you pointed out those comparisons how similar they really are, it allmost seems like they copied each other!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the books, but I have seen both Hunger games movies and I have seen Divergent and I couldn't agree more. They are the same exact story with diferent authors.
ReplyDeleteI've read MockingJay and am in progress of reading Allegiant. I agree. So far they do sound very similar. Though I disagree that they have too much romance. I think it's great.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you on this one. I also read the Hunger Games series and I have seen Divergent, they are exactly the same, messed up society with a female main character who has problems in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe books were pretty much the same, and I wasn't all that excited about either series. Although I would say that the hunger games were a little better, they were at least a little more original
